The RiverKeepers Community Partnership is a collaborative effort between the Lakeside Union School District, Lakeside River Park Conservancy, and other local agencies to promote educational and cultural opportunities for youth. This seven-year partnership has resulted in yearly field study experiences for 450 sixth-graders to actively engage applied ecological study with innovative 21st century tools. The experience builds understanding of the native riparian habitat, invasive species, watershed issues community awareness and college/career pathways.
